We are your Mount Washington experts, offering year round guided ascents, mountaineering courses, ice climbing, Observatory overnights, Presidential Range traverses, backcountry ski adventures, and all levels of rock climbing instruction, seven days a week. Synnott Mountain Guides (SMG) offers private and group instruction/guiding in rock climbing, hiking & backpacking, mountaineering, ice & mixed climbing, backcountry skiing, and avalanche awareness. We conduct our courses at a variety of different areas including Cathedral Ledge, Whitehorse Ledge, Cannon Cliff, Frankenstein Cliff, Mount Willard, and Mount Webster. We specialize in winter ascents of Mount Washington, including routes in Tuckerman Ravine and Huntington Ravine.
Synnott Mountain Guides has several highly qualified guides, so whether you're looking for a sunny day of multi pitch rock climbing at Cathedral Ledge, a day of ice climbing in Crawford Notch, or an introduction to mountaineering on Mount Washington, we have the expertise and local knowledge for your mountain adventure.
SMG can take care of all the arrangements for your visit with suggestions for lodging, transportation, and equipment. The nearest airports are in Portland, ME (PWM - 1.5 hrs away), Manchester, NH (MHT - 2.5 hrs), or Boston (BOS - 3 hrs).

Owner and director Mark Synnott is an AMGA/IFMGA certified Mountain Guide, the highest level of guide certification available in the US. He is also a long time member of The North Face Athlete Team and local Mountain Rescue Service.
