Mountaineering in New Hampshire

Experience mountain climbing in the Presidential Range in the White Mountains with a climb of Mt. Washington, Mt. Willard or a Presidential Traverse. Photo: Winter on the Franconia Ridge.

We offer courses from one to three days…and beyond. Two and three day courses can include a bivouac on Mt. Washington or Mt. Willard, or a full traverse of the Presidentials. We'll teach you the techniques to move comfortably on snow and ice, including French Technique, snow anchors (pickets, dead men, bollards), self arrest, boot axe belays, crevasse rescue, and avalanche hazard assessment.

We’ll also cover how to pick a good campsite, how to dig in before a storm, plus cooking, stove and fuel selection, and food preparation. Whether you’re training for Mt. Rainier, Denali, or even Everest, we can help prepare you for what’s in store.
